(Update) Kinumpirma ni Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo na sinibak ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Vice President “Leni” Robredo bilang co-chairman ng Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD).
Ito’y tatlong linggo pa lamang mula nang italaga ng 74-year-old chief executive ang 54-year-old vice president sa pagiging ICAD co-chairman.
Ayon kay Panelo, isa sa dahilan sa pagsibak ng pangulo kay Robredo ay dahil sa kakulangan daw nito ng programa para sa ICAD.
Una nang inihayag ng Malacanang na hindi sila kontento sa performance ni Leni para sa kampanya sa anti-drug war, bagay ni inalmahan ng bise presidente sa pagsasabing bakit siya in-appoint kung wala naman pala talagang tiwala sa kanya.
Maging si Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea ay kinumpirma na rin ang nasabing impormasyon pero sa kanyang bersyon, ay wala itong binanggit na dahilan.
“The Palace is announcing the termination of the services of Vice President Ma. Leonor Robredo as co-chairperson of the (ICAD),” ani Panelo sa isang statement. “However, the Vice President resorted to unduly baiting international attention on the matter, particularly from persons or entities that know little or none at all about our situation, other than their own bias or unsubstantiated prejudgment.”
“Further, given the transparency of her motive to politicize the issue, the intention of the Vice President to seek access to confidential law enforcement information cannot be given the benefit of the doubt as being free from malice or manipulation. Essentially, what the Vice President has done is to embarrass our country, apart from detrimentally undermining the government’s efforts to preserve the general welfare.”
Samantala, inaasahan naman na ngayong araw ay maglalabas din ng statement si Robredo.
Kung maalala nitong lamang nakalipas na Sabado ay nag-sorry pa ang Pangulong Duterte dahil daw sa nakuha niyang “fake news” na pinapunta sa Pilipinas ni Robredo ang UN Commission on Human Rights at pinulong pa.
