Walang ‘tsunami threat’ sa Pilipinas kasunod ng magnitude 6.5 lindol sa Papua New Guinea – PhiVolcs

Iniulat ngayon ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) na walang banta ng tsunami sa Pilipinas kasunod ng magnitude 6.5 na lindol na tumama sa Papua New Guinea.

“No destructive tsunami threat exists based on available data. This is for information purposes only and there is no tsunami threat to the Philippines from this earthquake,” pahayag ng PHIVOLCS sa kanilang Tsunami Information No. 1.

Ang lindol ay tumama sa rehiyon ng New Britain sa Papua New Guinea sa lalim na 65 km batay sa ulat ng United States Geological Survey.
